Euphoric GOA?

Odd.

This has to be one of the weirdest.. most convoluted trance songs I've ever heard. It works though. lol

In the beginning.. It sounded like you were going to be making a sick, demented-sounding GOA track... but the GOA train's conductor wasn't paying attention.. so the GOA train took a wrong turn.. thus.. instead takes the track to happy fun land with rainbows, unicorns, and skittles.

I like it. =D

Nice little story there ^_^
Next goa try will be actual goa :p
Thanks for the review/score :)
Hopefully the judges will pay attention to the original combination :p

Very chill

And well produced.. good stuff here.

You went the complete opposite direction from me on this song.. slowed down... stretched out.. It's kinda got an ambient feel going. I like. Only thing I'd maybe suggest is going with a different trance arp (the one in the very beginning.. that comes back in at :30 something) that and making it a bit longer. I really like the bit of guitar and the heavy echoing kick you use though.. adds to the chill feel of the piece.

If I was tripping balls...

On a psychedelic... this would probably be phenomenally interesting.. due to the samples, and heavy use of FX.

However, one of the staples of being a good Psy artist (if that is what you're shooting for) is to also make it interesting to a sober person, and ideally.. place them in a trance as well.

The effects you use in this track definitely help.. as well as the trippy vocals. However, it sounds kinda empty as it is.. just because there aren't many things going on.

I dunno if there is an actual bass sound in here or not.. (is there a bass arp that is being phased?) I can almost hear one.. if there is.. maybe clone the channel without adding the phase in to the clone, and bring the volume up on the clean one. Otherwise.. you should arp a bass in there.. because I can hear where it's practically begging for it all through the build.

Also, not too sure on the melodic elements you end up running with.. the strings that come in.. just don't really fit the piece.. as well as the plucky thing.. well.. the plucky thing isn't too bad.. but you could probably put something else in there that would work a lot better and write a completely different melody for it.

Anywho, 5/5 for the potential that lies here..
... 7/10 because it needs a good bit of work to fulfill that.

Best of luck though, and I'd definitely like to hear the finished product!

Thanks a lot!

You're right about several things, and one of them is the bass. I 'forgot' to put in a good bassline (Which I originally was aiming for), and that kinda sucks because that'll make the song sound empty, yes. But still, you can hear a lil' bit bass in there ;)

When it comes to the melody, I tried to look for a "Trancy" synth which could fit in, but I was appearently too lazy (Lol). So it became a pluck with a little modification in the mixer, and a rip off from one of my pal's songs.. So it was kinda rushed.

The vocals, which was recorded and edited by me, was made from inspiration from "Infected Mushroom". The HAH! (echo)- voc was coming from one of their songs (I don't remember the name, but it was super awesome ;), and puts ME into a trance ;D

Oh yeah, before I forget.. It's the "Phasing" sound in sytrus, and I edited it a little in the mixer (I added phazor.. 'Butter on Bacon' as we say in norway)

Thanks a bunch for the review :) I just love PsyTrance, and I wanted to make a little tune for NG ;) .. I want stoned people to become happier!! ^^ Lolz

Prepare for the most epic review ever.

Ok.. starting with strings.. into... sax?.. it's good.. lotta sound on the left.. but both ears are entertained.. so all is well.

The drums come in next.. and.. it's very clean.. the mix is veeerryy wholesome. Gotta say I'm a fan. The acoustic guitar.. whilst not real.. sounds very fitting.. and the little accents in the percussion.. dunno if it's toms.. it's good.. no.. not toms.. timpanis.. verrry fitting.

It's epic. And that makes me happy now.. and we're only at the tuba..

and a stuttering cymbal? Wha?

And now.. the techno part.. the flange is rather pleasing..

and the acoustic comes back?! yesss...

Sweeet.. I like the way it mixes back together.. very nice.

And now another guitar...ish.. line.. I likey... swweeeet.

YEs.. it's good. Very intricate.. the audio textures. W00tness.. and now the end..

I liked it a lot.. 5/5 10/10 -Echoz =D

SolusLunes responds:

Not sax, jazz trumpet for the beginning, just a little bit lower than they'd normally play. :D

Yes, you are correct, those are timpanis, I WAS considering toms for them originally.

Stuttering cymbal because I can. :D

The flange/phase makes the synth, and the acoustic guitar is a nice sound.

AND THEN THE OTHER GUITAR.

Glad you liked it :D

I feel a trance remix.

Classical is definitely your forte.. but wow.. this could be pretty freakin amazing techno-ized in Cornandbean-esque orchestral trance. This gives me tons of ideas. Anyway.. yeah.. this is awesome stuff here.

Great job Solus.

And... yes.. I definitely feel a collab as soon as I make it back up to MO.

5/5 10/10 -Echoz

SolusLunes responds:

Classical's EASY. :(

But if you get ideas and want the project file (FIRST GET YOURSELF A BIGGER HARD DRIVE BECAUSE YOU'LL NEED REASON YOU DIRTY HO) and I'll send it to you.

Granted, you'll have to get different piano samples unless you want to get Reason Pianos too. 8 gigs of piano awesome.

I hath stumbled across your music..

and not bad! Yea.. drunken music is always fun.. I've never recorded it though.

Typically mine is on a drum.. this is very coordinated guitaring for being boozed up though.

Does your acoustic have a pickup?.. this is very clean sounding.. especially if it was just with a mic.

I look forward to checking out more of your stuff in the future.
5/5, 9/10 -Echoz

GODblamIT responds:

Thanks! Yes, it's an electric acoustic. It's plugged directly into my sound card :-(

Jazz N Bass!?

Tis crazy. I like. A lot.

I'll agree with the guy below me on the build... but hell.. as soon as it comes together.. that's just amazing. I'm going to have to show some of my friends this. Hell.. the rest of the song is so good.. forget the build.. you get a 10.

5/5, 10/10 -Echoz

TimeBender responds:

Hey I hope n***as don't copy my style

Hahaha.. Rock.

You went the exact opposite way with this than I did. I like. I sped it the hell up.. and you slowed it wayy on down.. very chill, very nice.

The dissonance gave it a horror-y feel.. also.. the use of heavy 'verb in spots gave it a nice ambient ring as well. Some parts don't match up as much as my ear wants.. around the end of the 2s.. beginning of the 3 minute area mainly.

Otherwise, I love the rhythmic vox chopping in the end there.

I gotta check out more of your stuff now.. can't believe I didn't see this before.

5/5, 9/10 -Echoz

TimeBender responds:

It's ridiculously babyrific hot like a motherscreaming for a attetion ya mean?

A lot more detail.

And it brings new life to it. I really pick up a lot through headphones.. I'll have to play it through the 5.1 later and see how that sounds as well. I'm going to bet that this ran up your processor quite a bit, it sounds like there are a lot of new patterns involved.. and the EQing and compression is spot on as well.

The only thing that kinda turned me off was the water-droplet type sound in the beginning.. it just kinda pierced the mix a bit more than would be desireable.

OOOoooh... I like the new break that starts at 5:15.. that's really sharp. Actually.. I like the whole new addition you have there.. the break.. the build.. and the outro.

Overall, excellent reworking to a song that was already great.

5/5, 10/10 -Echoz

NemesisTheory responds:

I agree, through headphones it really sounds so wide :o
and yes it did! you should see a screenshot of the whole pattern list... it's pretty crazy lol

about the water drop... yeah, but luckily it doesnt stay there very long huh? :)

and yup, the new stuffs at the end is supposed to be a sort of big surprise... i like surprises like that! usually catches people completely offguard :D

I'm glad you liked it :)
Thank you for the scores and review!!

Sorry it took so long to hit you back =|

Anywho.. love the bell leads. Kinda roundish in the manner that things come together. The structure is interesting, albeit a bit cluttered in parts.. especially around 1:40. The ending was interesting.. I liked how you reversed things.. although I'm not too sure on the train wreck you created, I definitely give you props for setting it up that way.

A very creative work overall.
