A start, but this might help
Okay.. I'm going to try to help here.
For a start, you might want to build some complexity into the drums. In electronic music, a frequently used drumline consists of a bass drum that hits on every beat (on a 16 step sequencer, this would be 1, 5, 9, and 13) which is good to put into one pattern by itself, so you can more easily add breaks and builds into the playlist. Then, add a clap on every other beat(this would be steps 5 and 13). From there, add a hat on the offbeats (steps 3, 7, 11, and 15) This will give you the overused, but highly effective uhtse, ahtse sound that I'm sure you have heard. When you have more experience, feel free to ignore all of that, but for now give that a shot.
Then, you should consider a key to write in. (It wouldn't hurt to look up some music theory tutorials) Stick with a four beat time signature, this is default and very easy to work with. This places the strong beats at beat 1 and 3, or 2 and 4 can alternatively be used, as often happens in dance and pop music. As for the key, try using only white keys (no flats or sharps) which is C, or you can get an oriental sound by only using black keys (there are some white keys in this scale, but ignore them for now)
Next, you should write a bassline.
FL provides decent presets, although I prefer my own, these will work for a beginner just fine.
Go to channel presets, and choose classic 1. It has a nice retro 404 sound, and works well for this task. Now, depending on if you went with white or black notes, start with the third white note in the scale (third white from C or the second black note above it) then up to the fifth note (third black), then down to the third white note, or second black note, then up to the seventh white note, or fourth black note.
This is a cool bass line. Either go for the off beats here, or on beat, but spread it out so that there are four counts on each pitch.
Then you should write a melody, as a beginner, just stick to the notes you chose.
I'll try to make a file later and post the tutorial in the forum but I need to get to work.
When you have a good pattern set, you should combine them starting with the bass, then drums, then bring in the melody.
Good luck!
