Pretty sweet stuff.

You definitely should venture more into songs than loops, not saying you do a bad job with them, but I'd like to hear a longer progression! This song actually loops almost seamlessly.

The glitchy stuff is always good. A plugin I think you'd appreciate is dblue's glitch.. www.illformed.org/glitch It is free, and I use it to accompany manual slicing and effects... It can really tear things apart in a nice way.

But yes, the piano and percussion come together quite well... I like the stereo effects and the way the sounds are balanced, definitely comes through well.

Anyways, good luck man.. hope to hear more of you here in the future.

hey thanks for the nice review!

first off, the reason why my stuff is short is because I use the demo version, until recently. and i usually suck at making full length songs, I make the intro unproportional to the rest of the track.

I actually use dblue glitch :P just not in this track...this actually isnt all that glitchy once I look back at it.

anyways, thanks a bunch for the suggestions and listen, its appreciated man.

A treat for the ears

Reminds me a bit of BT's Binary Universe tracks...

Good stuff here, excellent use of effects and sampling to get just the right sound.

I'd love to hear about how you made this man, great work.

this song has no reviews!!! but now it does!!!

Good jazz feel here.. maybe a little more variation in the piece would help.. play around with the scratches a bit more.. that would help

Nice funky feel overall tho.

5/5. I like it!

One of the greatest songs to grace the AP..

You are destined to become one of the greatest video-game music makers of all time. This song reminds me of the music off of one game... Iridion 3D... except for the fact that it is like 20 some odd times better.

I have no idea how many times I've listened to this, but it's a rather large number.

I am compelled by how well orchestrated the song is.. the melody, the harmonies, counter-melody, percussion, FX, filter cuts... It's.. really well put together, well.. all of your songs seem to be.

I hope you get back to cranking out tunes solid again soon. Songs like this remind me why you were in the old audio box player... It's good stuff.

BTW: What audio program do you use.. I've heard FL, but you definitely get away from a sound that is easily traceable to one of the main programs.. I'd like to see one of your song files sometime.. I imagine I'd be able to learn a lot.. even though this isn't really my genre. lol

Ibizaish

has a bit of an Ibiza feel..
guess it is that piano and ocean waves, lol

Now, I do have one complaint, your percussion is way overpowering. It wouldn't be bad, except it is sitting on the very top of the rest of the mix, with everything else in the background. It feels like you need a lead to sit on top of it.

I like the pads and everything you used though. That technoey phantasy starish synth that you tend to use a lot always sounds good. And of course, the piano is one of my favorite parts, and the waves were certainly a nice addition.. Leaves a nice chill feel.

Well, 5/5 and such, keep it up!

Sylacone responds:

I like my drums overpowering. XD, plus the songs volume goes over the drums. So it cancels out

nice synths, good beat, fun song

I like the different sounds you use here, lots of chrunchy FX, sounds like some serious bit-chrunching going on. Some crazy vibrato on the lead too. I like the beat that you have going, kinda reggae-pirate beat.. lol. A lot of trancy and VGish synth. Only thing that I think would really add to this would be some sort of crazy glitch break.

Thanks!

A glitch break, hmmm very good suggestion!! Yeh, I can't escape my VG sound huh lol.

Good job

I'm not too much a fan of this style of piano music, although I can tell that it was well-performed. Sounds like you have a lot of skill with the instrument. How long have you been playing? Sounds like a tough piece, and you definitely did a good job playing it, but there is too much dissonance for my taste with piano.

A big pile of amazing.. but not very Pico-ey

Incredibly beautiful song you have here.
just one problem..

It has no Pico feel whatsoever.
Not a bad thing, but I can't see why you decided to use this for a MAC entry.. but damn pretty anyways, and loops like a big pile of amazing.

Bells, light drums, strings, piano, guitarish light sound... yeah. This song is eargasmic.
Just not Pico-ey.

Anyways, 5/5 and yes, I intend to get that collab back to ya here soon.. just too much shit going on at once, lol

I likey

Well, I was browsing the trance charts, and this certainly caught my ear. Nice melodies, accompianiment, percussion.. overall a great build. Let me also be the first to contradict the others in saying the lead saw was not too loud. It brings it to the front of the mix, which is a nice touch. I certainly hope to hear more from you in the future.

Check out my new song Island Moonlight if ya get the chance.

Nice sound, good job here

Nice sound starting out... acoustic.. drums could definitely use some work. I dunno about the trumpet either, I would check into some soundfonts..
Listening.. I like the low organish/bell sound in my left ear. Nice blend overall. Kinda reminds me of some of the music on Mario 64. Keep up the good work, little bit of tweaking the drums, and it will be great.
